SNOW PATROL

HEY PAM!

Check out what came in the mail today!!!

That was pretty quick! I'm impressed!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAY!

Whose Make-Up is it Anyway?

Men and Eyeliner. What is it about it about that that's sooooooo damn good?

Well, OK so following a discussion I had with Shannon the other day, I'm going to make the point of presenting how hot men with eyeliner are. Maybe we can hold a vote or a poll or something here... Which frontman's eyeliner looks better?

Brandon Flowers of The Killers

... or Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs?

How about any other suggestions?

Murphy's Law of Softball...'n stuff

What's the deal here? Last year, I could get on base, but my hits were these twirpy little dinky shots...

Now that my hits are getting stronger, people are catching the bastards and I'm getting out more frequently.

Maybe I should go back to the dinky hit strategy. . . but I don't remember how!!!

Freaking softball... the better you get, the harder it is to get on base.

Oh well.

13 Days left 'til the semester's over. Glad to be rid of it, except that I have an assload of work to do before then. What's this you say? Maybe you should be working instead of blogging Brie? Well, to that I respond with a nice big... shmeh.

Anyway, I'm hoping staring @ Mr. Wilson down here'll give me good enough dreams to write down in that psych study I'm undergoing, because I'm almost done it, and so far all I've dreamt about is work and Big Brother. Damnit.

Right, SOC presentation tomorrow afternoon, so should probably well rested.

Man, my life is lame.

Secrets

So the word's out. Looks like Jordania's moving out by end-August to pursue his own career goals somewheres up north. This means a few things.

1) I've got to decide whether or not I want to change bedrooms seeing as how Miltonia already claimed J's room when he leaves. I guess at this point it's about weighing out the pros and cons:

PROS

Just painted it the colour I wanted it
Can't hear anything, which makes for excellent sleeping
Supposedly the coolest room in the apt., come summer time
Nice and warm come the winter
Small room makes sure I avoid making excessive purchases that would take up space in said room.
All my shit's already here.
Nice big windows

CONS

it's freakin' small
smaller closet space
Not v. easy to manoeuvre
when it's messy, it looks that much more messy because it's so small
No room for electronics, save the computer.
Less wallspace for posters
Too close to the bathroom

GAH... I don't know, I'm torn.

OK, so school was relatively boring today. A guest speaker came and basically gave us a lesson in sex ed. concerning options available for women as far as family planning goes. How exciting.

Work was pretty boring too, now that I think about it. Trying to get to know the potential new-roomate candidate is relatively difficult given the manager/labourer relationship and the excessive sarcasm. I suppose a degree or adaptation is inevitable. Haven't lived with another girl since Elmo, so.. that should be interesting. Maybe I'm worrying too much. I mean hey, it's not like Katalin's moving back in here! hah! I suppose my history of housemate conflict has just made me very hestitant when facing change of this sort. But let's see how this plays out, shall we?

Anyhoot, the rents & Pam-dawg come home tomorrow, so here's wishing them a safe journey home!

Cottage

So, last weekend, Mike and I had the pleasure of taking a ride down to Perth on Sunday for a nice day by the lake. Mike's step-family have a cottage out there, right by the lake, with two boats and a bunch of tubes and waterskis and all that other good stuff, so it made for a most enjoyable day outside of the city. Everyone thought I was crazy for sitting out in the sun all the time but, seeing as how it was probably the only opportunity I was going to have to be in the sun, I really wanted to take advantage. AND, on the plus side, thanks to the wonders of sunscreen, I didn't get a burn!! Just sore shoulders from hanging on to those tubes for dear life.
Anyway, like I mentioned, it was exactly the kind of escape-from-the-city that I needed. It seems that next in line for that will be camping with Milton in August and then Cedar Point following that. GAH. I can't wait.

I'm counting down the days for this semester to be over, but there's still so much to be done before it is finished. This journal I have to keep for SOC is killing me. And I'm not getting any of my POL readings done, probably because I know the final is a take-home and thus there will not be a significant amount of studying involved.

Gah, fact is, I just want this term to be over so I can attempt to have something remotely relating a "normal" summer. I think Mom and Pam have the right idea, I should probably become a teacher so I can have summers off. Except, I might strangle the little buggers... so, probably not a good idea. Yeah. Safest bet.

Anyway, the blogger seems to be working better now, so I can show you what my The Last Kiss poster looks like. After that though, I'm getting my laundry and hitting the hay!!

(MAN... LOOK HOW HOT Dr. Acula is... )

Summer in the city

Man, I can't believe how busy I am this summer. When I'm not working @ FCAC, I'm @ Empire. When I'm not there, I'm at school, when I'm not at school, I'm with Mike.. when I'm not doing all that, I try to get some schoolwork done... and when all that's either done, or not getting done, or whatever... I'm watching hours upon hours of X-Files because, well... because I can.

The parents are still avoiding any contact with their only child still on the North American continent. But I have received confirmation that they are, in fact, still alive, and so that is a very good thing. :)

I've been listening to an assload of Snow Patrol lately, mainly because their song "Chocolate" is on the trailer & the teaser for The Last Kiss, for which I'm counting down the days. This will be THE movie for me. When Garden State came out, Zach was a nobody for me, so, that caught my attention. Then, the recent obsession with Scrubs adds to the anticipation for this new flick. Did I mention I've already hung the poster up, thanks to the most delightful boss-man, who knows me well enough to know that I want nothing more than a sexy Zach Braff on my wall, above my bed, where I can stare at him and dream of the bad things I could to do him, if I'd ever be given the chance... ur... what? maybe I'm going a bit too far with this. Must be the heat.

Speaking of the managers, I had a dream that suggested I was addicted to work. I don't really want to go into it, but, maybe those people at Ottawa U's dream lab will have a little something to say about it, when I hand in that dream report thing I've been filling out over the past couple of days.

Wow, hair dye is fun!! (I just dyed Miltonia's hair, & didn't do that bad of a job, I must say. ;)

Anyway, little sum up of what's been done lately:

My presentation for POL went well, I mean, nobody sitting in the class really wanted to be there, but I'm under the impression that I make the same bored expression when everyone else is presenting. Ah well, at least I got them up to stretch a bit, mid presentation. I can't believe some of the bitches in that class who think they're too goddamn important to follow the flow of standing up and stretching, because why? because, your rep is at stake? Why are people in Ottawa so uptight,?!? My SOC TA thought I was from the East Coast, she told me. She said she recognized her own. I told it was probably because I was destined to live there or something, but that, being as how I am from Niagara, I couldn't associate with her Eastern heritage and whatnot, even though I probably would have liked to. Anyway, she commented that people in Ottawa are all wound too tight, and I've got to agree, whole-heartedly. PEople around here need to extract the probes for a day or 2 and Re-freakin-LAX!!

Only now do I realize that there's something wrong with the website and that I can't change the font or add pics, and that pisses me off, because what if this post doesn't um... post? Oh well, I'm too tired, and it's too hot, for me to give a damn.
