a thought

A customer from the movie theatre today helped me move my ladder after his show was over. I told him it wasn't necessary, but he insisted.

I guess there still is a bit of good left in people.

Friday the 13th: A Different kind of spooky

So, I guess I've been blogging for over a year now, and I think I should get some sort of blogger-anniversary gift for using their free blog-service. Or maybe not.

Friday the 13th could have been cool this year, but instead I had to spend it at a baseball banquet with a bunch of people who spent most of the season ignoring me. Female MVP this year went to the girl with the most strike-outs. Sounds about right. And after the loud Dance Mix '96 CD was about half way through, right before the karaoke, but just at about the time when the party began to feel like an awkward family gathering with drunken older relatives, we left the hall with enough time to salvage a couple episodes of Scrubs Season 4, which came out to DVD a short while ago.

I re-organized my bedroom a while ago. There's surprisingly a lot more room than I would have figured in this tiny little place. Now the big question being raised is how I'm going to un-staple my posters off the wall to make them look good with the moved-furniture and whatnot.

I'm working like mad at the cinema lately and putting in my 6 hours of work from home with the University. Right about now, the only thing relatively exciting I've got going is the prospect of a good party on Halloween night. Costume came in the mail last week, so now I've just got to figure out ways to style my hair and find out when and where the next Star Trek convention's taking place. Awesome.

Well that's my update.

Sticky Buns

I can't believe it's already October. What the hell happened to the summer? It's getting cold, and I've got to say that I am definitely not looking forward to another Ottawa winter.
I turned down a kegger tonight to watch Annie Hall and When Harry Met Sally. I don't know if that's sad or not. It is what it is. Now I don't have to worry about whether or not the Ottawa Film Society allows us to screen their films for the cinema employers because it's the only one I really wanted to see that I hadn't already seen.
Work at the cinema was shit today. I left home in a bad mood because I couldn't find my keys and when I got to the mall, everyone there seemed a couple degrees more stupid than usual. Must be because it was Saturday. It seems to me though, that you don't leave your crying child at the bottom of the most busy escalator in the Rideau Centre because he's too much of a whoosie to get on the damn thing. ESPECIALLY not when there's a line up of dozens of people expecting to get on the damn thing. Some people really shouldn't procreate. This kid's parents are a prime example. Anyway, then I got harped on for still being bitter about this shitty gift I got at our cinema's secret Santa last Christmas. Well EXCUSE me if I thought that people there knew me a bit better than to stock up on shit they bought at the Dollar Store moments before the exchange. How thoughtful! I guess I know what to expect now and plan on not participating this year if we hold another Secret Santa.
Selfishness (Def'n): Manager tells you about a cool new movie poster that you'd be interested in. While overhearing the news about this poster, co-worker sneaks away from listening in and signs up as having dibbs on the poster as soon as it becomes available to bring home before you have the opportunity to because you're still in mid-conversation with the person telling you about it.
Really makes me think about why I'm still working there...
oh wait...
yeah, Jackass 2 was hillarious when I saw it yesterdayand ... yeah,I saw it for free.
and... the Last Kiss, which I saw 3 times so far.. Wouldn't have been able to do that if I didn't work here...
I guess that answers that question.
I put some pics up on my MSN spaces from when Paul Brown and Curtis came to visit a few weeks back. Paul's in Ottawa today and I'd invited him to that kegger, but alas, Woodly Allen and Billy Crystal won tonight. Here's a glimpse at the pictures I put up:
oh well, nevermind... looks like the photo uploading doesn't want to work tonight. Surprise surprise... freaking blogger.
